Colleen Faupel is a Assistive Technology Instructor, who joined De Witt & Associates in 2001. Colleen began working in the middle-school student Computer Proficiency Program (CPFS) that provided one-on-one assistive technology instruction for students in their homes. Currently, Colleen instructs clients at the Joseph Kohn Rehabilitation Center in New Brunswick, NJ, in the use of assistive technology software so that they may effectively work with documents, files, e-mail and the internet.

"It is most rewarding for me when a student realizes the world of computers is open to them. It can be something as simple as once again being able to keep up with their favorite sports teams or being able to e-mail their grandchildren. When they get excited, I get excited."

Prior to working for De Witt & Associates, Colleen worked as a Technology Integrationist for the Green Island School District in New York . Colleen has always enjoyed the pleasure and innovative approaches when working with individuals who have special needs. As far back as middle school, she has worked with different social and recreational groups and organizations for people with special needs, including 7 years working for Happy Hands Day Camp for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired.

Colleen graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo , NY in 1999 with a BA in Communication Studies. She received her MS ED in Educational Psychology and a certificate for Technology in Education from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY in 2000.
